Miles of Hope: Because Distance Should Never Be a Barrier to Care
Every cancer journey comes with challenges—but for many rural Oklahoma patients, distance has become one of the hardest.
With recent treatment center closures, patients are now traveling hours, multiple times each week, to receive chemotherapy and radiation in Tulsa. For many families, the cost of fuel adds an overwhelming burden during an already difficult time.
Through our Miles of Hope Program, Lisa Bain Ministries provides gas cards to ensure no patient has to choose between getting to treatment and meeting basic needs like food, prescriptions, or caring for their family.
Because of our generous sponsors, donors, and grant partners, this program continues to meet critical needs across our state.
One patient recently shared, with tears in his eyes, that receiving a gas card meant he could finally use his own money to buy a sandwich after chemotherapy—something he had been missing. Like so many, he knew his appetite would fade within hours, and that small moment mattered deeply. To him that sub sandwich was gold. I remember that moment so vividly with my Mom.
These are the moments your generosity makes possible.
Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference.
Thank you for helping us remove barriers, bring hope, and walk alongside patients—mile by mile.
